Other details:


  • Electrical current that rows through a coil always causes a vibration of the entire winding called transformer humming or microphonic effect and generates heat which reduces the life of the windings.
  • Voids in the windings also accelerates the degradation of insulation material and causes the transformer to fail prematurely.
  • VPI Plant produces a better insulation for better environmental protection and moisture resistance. The removal of air voids from the windings assures longer electrical life.
  • These plants are specially used to force an Impregnate / Varnish into the deep voids of winding for better penetration and reduce the air gaps

    Storage tank:

    • 100 mm rock wool insulation used to avoid heat transfer

    Stirrer:

    • A stirrer with 3 nos Airfoil shaped blades is provided in order to reduce temperature gradient of varnish between side walls and a center of tank
    • Stirrer speed – 70 rpm
    • Bearing housing and stool provided in order to reduce friction, noise and for ease operation

    Pressure system:

    • For pressure either the line can be taken from existing compressor unit or will be provided us as per customer requirement

    General Process:

    • The windings are lowered into the autoclave. Within the autoclave the windings are subjected to high vacuum
    • The varnish is transferred from reservoir to the autoclave & the vacuum in the autoclave is maintained until the windings are thoroughly impregnated
    • The Vacuum is released and dry air pressure is applied for certain period
    • Using the same pressure varnish is transferred to the reservoir
